Today, I went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido. It's a lot closer than the San Diego Zoo, but I had to pay $9.00 for parking, and parking at the Zoo is free, so it's almost a wash; distance vs. convenience. I went expressly to see the Butterfly Jungle, it's only open for four weeks, and since today was going to be in the 70's, and the rest of the week will be in the 80-90 degree range, today was the day.
I waited in line for an hour, the line was well shaded and there were other people to chat with, so the wait was fine. Once inside, you could stay as long as you wanted. The space was tiny so they regulated the number of humans very well. It as so much fun! Other places across the country have Butterfly exhibits; I highly recommend going if you have a chance.
There will be more photos, soon.
Go take more photos,
We have a butterfly place to visit down island. Love your images of them! I guess when you leave the place, the staff has to make sure you don't leave with the butterfly's as they tend to land on you.
ReplyDeleteSome of them looked like they've seen a little wear and tear. I'll have to visit our local butterfly house soon, I was involved in its start up a million years ago. I'm sure it's changed a lot.
