Panda Overload

Pandas need bamboo, to live.

We trekked to San Diego today.  We go every other Friday, due to Bob's medical appts.  We may do this forever as far as I'm concerned.

Today was the first time I saw the latest Panda cub. Xiao Liwu is now on exhibit daily from 9 a.m. to noon.

Xiao Liwu was very active

He stayed WAY, in the back of the enclosure.

It was really difficult to get a good shot.

I like the sunlight on his eye, in this one.

He's about as big as his mom's head, below.

This is his mom.  She is totally unconcerned with what's going on with Xiao Liwu.
Bai Yun has given birth to six cubs since her arrival at the San Diego Zoo: Hua Mei, Mei Sheng, Su Lin, Zhen Zhen, Yun Zi, and our newest cub, born on July 29, 2012.
Go take more photos,

  4. I was thinking he looked pretty big until you mentioned that he is only as big as his mom's head! You got some great pictures, thank goodness for zoom! :)
