These, of course, are polar bears.  There are three polar bears at the San Diego Zoo.  The heat doesn't bother them, the way you'd expect.  These three were orphaned and rescued  by the zoo and have never lived elsewhere.  The top polar bear, never moved, the whole time I was there, he was taking a suntan!  The middle bear was very active; there is lots of debris in their home and he was very busy moving it about.  I would guess this was a female from the nesting behavior.  The third bear, in the bottom photo, on the left, made a brief appearance, but bear #2 aggressively ran him off.  More polar bears tomorrow.  (These photos were taken thru dirty glass, but I wanted to share them, anyway.)
