Twenty three miles away there's a fire burning.  This photo was taken on Tuesday, about 2 1/2 hours after a lightning strike started the fire.  Right now, it's still burning, and only 40% contained, and there have been evacuations.
Go take more photos,

  2. Hi Jan! I've been taking a bit of a blog reading break (OK--a loooong one), but I've been missing it, so I'm baaaack. At least until it starts eating up my life again. Sigh. ANYHOO, to comment on your post. Wildfires are scary beasties. We have 'em every year in BC, and one year the ash was falling on us and the sky was weird, and we wondered whether we'd be evacuated. Scary. Thinking of you...it looks pretty close.
