When I spotted this statue of James Fenimore Cooper, just outside the Baseball Hall of Fame, my first thought was - this is Lincoln.  They're from the same era, Lincoln, (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) and Cooper,(September 15, 1789 – September 14, 1851).  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
