Straight Out Of the Camera Sunday

We had some excitement, the bad type, in our neighborhood, late Friday afternoon.
This was taken looking up my street to the north.  That's a 10 acre brush fire, just over the hill.

The fire was unaccessible to the roads, several helicopters were making water drops.
This one is going to the fire.  He's spilling some water on the way.

Here he his coming back empty.  These were taken from my back patio.

Update, as of this morning, the fire is still burning.  We'll have smog for the next week or so, as a result.

What are the rules for SOOC Sunday?

•On any Sunday you can post any photo you like (it must be one of your own)
•that hasn’t been tweaked or altered in any way (cropping is OK).
•In other words Straight Out Of the Camera.
Link to Murrieta365 in your post so others will know where to go if they want to join in the SOOC fun.

BTW, I'm not shy about removing links, if the rules are ignored.

Go take more photos,

  1. Ugh... smog... wildfires... makes me so appreciate living where I do ... other than the snow I "don't" see in your photos!

  2. oh dear I hope they get it sorted out and you don't get too much smog! I always feel sorry for the little creatures caught in these fires.

  3. OH NO! That kind of excitement I can live without!

  4. You have fire problems in winter while we have flood problems in summer! The weather's all so bizarre! Great photos!

  5. Oh so sad it happened. Happy SOOC Sunday. Mine is up.

    Mine is here

  6. Great photos, but you are right, not the right kind of excitement. Hope it all works out well for everyone.

  7. So now you get to enjoy a nice brown smog sky for a while. So happy the fire was contained. Great pics Jan

  8. Is the fire put out well? Hope everything is find there. Take care and happy Sunday!

  9. That sounds mighty exciting! I hope it gets out soon and the smog blows away quickly.

  10. I'm sorry about the wildfire and smog. The photography is beautiful. Sometimes the dangerous, scary events make great photographs. I love the helicopter against the pink sky. Stay safe.

  11. Fires, floods, snow "bombs:" it's amazing how the weather affects us. I hope the fire is soon out! (It made for good photos, though!)

  12. Bragging's not nice. :P
Here in Tennessee, we've had more white than we're used to, but we still have brown. ;D

  13. Sorry to hear about the fire, hopefully they will get it out soon.

  14. Hope no one was hurt in that fire. Visiting here Ms Jan from SOOC. the link was already close though.
