The Duck by Ogden Nash
Behold the duck.
It does not cluck.
A cluck it lacks.
It quacks.
It is specially fond
Of a puddle or pond.
When it dines or sups,
It bottoms ups.
I love the feather details on this duck. Photo taken at the Wild Animal Park. Visit all the other nature lovers at Rambling Woods.
Oh the feathers are amazing aren't they? And you captured them very well. There is something peaceful about the way he is relaxing..We could all use some of that in our busy lives..Thank you for participating in Nature Notes! -Michelle--

Two-for-two, Jan - my very favorite type of photo: intimate detail; and Ogden Nash - my very favorite poet!
ReplyDeleteFunny little poem and the closeup of the feathers is great. Ducks are fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteGreat macro of the feathers. And commenting on the photos above this one, it must be so cool to actually see those birds nesting. I remember how thrilled I was when I had a hummingbird nest to watch in my yard. Very cool! :-)
ReplyDeletewhat beautifully detailed close-ups!
ReplyDeleteThe details are spectacular! It makes me think of some of the art classes I've had with the elementary school teaching the students to look at things up close for details.
ReplyDeleteGreat closeups!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Nature Notes post!
Isn't nature amazing in its form and function.
The structure of a bird feather is a truly amazing thing and you have captured the detail so well.
