Lizzie

The theme today is Thankful.  I'm thankful for many things, including our dogs.

Here's Lizzie, stretching to see what's in the garden. She's a great hunter; no critters are safe in our yard. If she's on a walk, outside the yard, she ignores them, but watch-out if you're a bird, lizard, mouse, rat or rabbit, in our yard. She doesn't eat bugs, though.

Both of our dogs are rescues; we got them from Cairn Terrier Rescue. The woman who gave up Lizzie, never treated her as a pet, just an object. We took her in in 2004, and it actually took almost 3 years for her to start acting like a pet. She still doesn't play like most pets, but she's a great dog, and lots of fun. She's 11 years old.

  8. Cute. My monkeys have been wanting a dog, but I'm not ready to care for, yet another, living thing.

  10. She's adorable! Like Cairns tend to be. If I one time get another dog after Malte - big "if" as I realize that no matter how quirky sweet he is I'm just very much a cat-person, despite loving most animals I don't necessarily want to share my home with them all - it will most definitely be from a shelter and no pup.
