We had a beautiful "mackerel" sky Monday morning. The first shot was taken from my backyard, at 6:30 AM.
The middle two photos were taken about 1 PM. You can see the clouds were moving fast.
The last photo was taken Monday evening while we were walking the dogs, about 4:30 PM.

Beautiful all day. I'm amazed the same types of clouds stayed all day. That almost never happens here.
ReplyDeleteWhat contrasts! You had mackerel clouds all day.
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to do a day long sky and it always slips my mind.
A beautiful photo essay.
Wow. I have a post scheduled in a few weeks called "Mackerel Sky" wherein I ask exactly where that term came from. I've heard it all my life, and I know what it refers to but I never saw the connection between clouds and fish.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun when we get interesting clouds in Southern California! Love all these puffy shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sky! I love the dark silhouettes against the sky too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic to say the least, I love these shots.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

What an extremely wonderful series of images. It was an interesting day for sky watching. The second picture is absolutely superb even if they all are striking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea to present us the all day long clouds.
ReplyDeleteColors on the first one look unreal and so soft, the followings pictures with their cover of clouds seem so thick, and protective.
These are great photos!
